Behind ExploringML
Hi, I’m David Gwyer.
My focus is machine learning and AI research and engineering. I bring a background in computational research and years of experience building software.
Research, software
and machine learning.
After completing my degree in Mathematics, Statistics and Computing at the University of Greenwich, I spent several years in postgraduate research in computational fluid dynamics, publishing papers along the way.
I then moved into general software development, where I worked for many years. More recently, my interest in AI has led me into machine learning and deep learning, drawing on both my research background and my experience building software.
ExploringML is where I document that learning: building small examples, trying out tools and writing down what I learn. You’ll find practical tutorials alongside experiments that help me understand the ideas behind the code.
I’m developing my skills towards AI engineering and research, with an emphasis on making things work and understanding why they work.
